Your number, answered on the first ring.

The line stays exactly as it is. The agent sits on it and picks up, asks the questions you told it to ask, takes the address, and works out whether this is a tomorrow-morning job or a tonight job using the rule you gave it. The booking goes into the calendar your team already opens. What it was never taught goes to a person, not a guess. $1,200 to set up, $699 a month, live in ten business days.

You cannot answer with both hands full.

You are under a sink, in an operatory, or across a desk from somebody who booked your time. The phone goes. You let it. There is only one of you, and the calls do not queue politely.

You already paid for that call. The advert, the lettering on the van, the years of reviews — all of it was to make the phone ring, and ringing is the only part you collected. Nobody leaves a voicemail about a leaking water heater. They hang up, ring the next name down, and the first you hear of it is nothing at all.

You never found out this call happened. There is nothing in your missed-call list that tells you what it was worth.

The same call, with the agent on the line.

Nothing about the line changes except who picks up. Before it ever answers, you hand it four things: your greeting, the questions you put to every caller, your hours and your call-out rates, and the rule for what counts as an emergency. On the call it works through them, writes down what it hears as it hears it, and books the job.

Picks up when you cannot

Every call, including the second and third that arrive while the first one is still going. It takes the details you would have taken, puts the work in the calendar, and texts you only the ones that genuinely need you.

What makes it safe to put on your main number.

Handing your number to software is a real decision. Three things to insist on before you do it — from us, or from whoever else you are talking to.

01

A person is always one step away

Nothing we build goes live without a way to reach a human being, and somebody on the other end of it. We are a licensed Ontario recruiter — licence REC-0000014012, which is a recruiter licence and not a temporary help agency licence — so when the right answer is a person, we can go and find you one.

02

It never pretends to be you

Ask it and it says it is an assistant. That is what keeps a caller calm at the moment it hands them over, and it is the difference between a customer who feels helped and one who feels tricked.

03

You see the words before it says them

You sign off the greeting, the questions and the things it must never say. After that every call and message is written down, searchable and kept against the right customer, so if anybody ever asks what was said, you can show them.

What owners ask before they hand over the phone.

What does it cost?

The voice agent is $1,200 to build and $699 a month. The chat agent is $800 to build and $297 a month. Both together are $1,600 to build and $799 a month, which is less than running them separately.

Are there usage charges?

Voice includes 1500 minutes a month, then $0.45 a minute. Chat includes 2,000 messages, then $0.12 each. Minutes cost us real money, so nobody here is going to offer you unlimited ones. What you get instead is the running total while the month is still happening, so the invoice never tells you something new.

Do I need a new phone number?

No, and that is rather the point. It answers on the number already on your van, your listing and your invoices. Nothing you have printed has to change, and nobody you ever handed a card to has to be told anything.

How many businesses are running this today?

None. Winwire has not closed its first sale, and you would be reading something else here if it had. Five founding places are open: half the build fee, your monthly rate held for a year, in exchange for a case study with real numbers and one reference call when we ask for it. That is the whole trade, written down. There are five of them, and when they are taken the price is simply the price.

What if it does not work?

Thirty days on the setup fee, your money back, no questions asked. Then, for the first sixty days it is running, if it fails to answer a call it was given, that month's fee comes back to you. A company without a track record should be the one carrying that risk, so we carry it.

How long until it is live?

Ten business days. Miss that and you do not pay the build fee. We need about an hour of your time in the first week, to learn how you answer the phone and what you never want said.

What happens when it does not know the answer?

It says so plainly and passes the caller to a real person, with everything already said attached so nobody repeats themselves. You choose who that person is and the hours they are reachable.

Does it work with my calendar and my customer records?

Yes — that is the point of it. It books into the calendar your team already opens every morning and writes the details where you already keep them. We fit the agent to your setup, not the other way round.

What if my customers hate talking to a machine?

Some will, and those are the ones it hands over fastest: it is built to stop talking the second somebody asks for a person. The honest comparison is four rings and a voicemail box, because that is what those calls get today. Go and play the demonstration call on the See it live page — it is scripted and both voices are synthesised, but the questions it asks and the booking it makes are what it does on a live line. Judge the tone yourself.

Who should not put this on their phone?

Anyone whose callers ring to ask them personally what a job will cost, where the answer is different every time. An agent in front of you is then one more person standing between you and the customer. Same if you take two calls a week: the arithmetic does not work, and you will hear that from us on the first call rather than after you have paid.

Bring us last week’s missed calls.

Tell us what happens to a call that comes in at six on a Thursday and we will tell you what it would do instead, what it costs to run at your number of calls, and how many booked jobs a month cover it. If an agent would not help you, we will say so on the call. Or ring +1 437 837 0556 — and it is a person who picks up.
